morning at 8’oclock for thanking him & to offer special
prayers for the critically ill patients in the hospital.
It was a
cold December day in 1994, when our dearest Dr. Saurabh
Pasricha, MD. was snatched away from us in a road accident
. It was then that Dr. Rajesh Pasricha & Dr. Kumud Pasricha
, who were till then working in Mumbai, felt the need to
establish a state of the art Neurosurgical & Trauma Centre in
this part of the country to provide immediate aid to Head
injury & polytrauma patients when element of time becomes a
crucial factor & save them from the agony of rushing to far
off cities.
Dr.
Rajesh Pasricha
M.S.,M.Ch. who is the CMD of hospital has held various senior
positions as teaching faculty at different Medical colleges .
He was senior registrar in Neurosurgery at DMC Ludhiana ,did
his MCh. from PGI Chandigarh and moved on to Mumbai as
senior clinical assistant at
Bombay
Hospital.
After short stints as a lecturer at
Grant
Medical College, National Medical College
and
Seth G.S.
Medical College
under Bombay university, he worked as a lecturer with Prof.
Sunil Pandya at KEM hospital for five years . From
there he was promoted as Asst. Prof. with Prof. Ramani at
L.T.M.C., Sion, Bombay.In 1995 he was appointed
Associate Prof. and Head of Neurosurgery dept. at
C.M..C
Ludhiana
. He has been involved in the training of 27 Neurosurgeons in
his teaching career .
Dr.
Pasricha further honed his surgical skills by working with-
(a) Prof.Vinko Dolenc at Ljubljana, Slovenia (b)Prof.
Oster Tag at Freiburg, Germany (c)
Prof.
Michael Gabb
at Greifswald, Germany (d) Prof. A.D. Mendelow at
Newcastle, UK (E) Prof. Rosenburg at Melbourne ,
Australia .(f) Dr. Richard at KL, Malaysia.
He is the
pioneer of Micro neurosurgery and Spinal instrumentation in
Punjab with many firsts to his credit. In order to provide
these super specialized surgeries to the people of Doaba, he
came to Jalandhar, his home Town; and created SATYAM,
with the active help of his wife Dr. Kumud Pasricha.
The
Hospital was started with the twin motive. Firstly, to
provide ultra modern health care of International standards to
the people of this region & secondly to provide such services
at affordable prices. Till date these motives have been
achieved in their own humble ways. |
